35 months, and a night away from the kiddos
Our babies are growing up way too fast! My baby boy is now 35 months old, which means next month he will be 3 years old! He is getting to be quite the big boy that is for sure. He now goes in on the potty all by himself and sometimes doesn't even tell us. This weekend he went in and pooped and didn't tell Grandma Joyce he had gone so she found out later that he didn't wipe! I guess we need to figure out how to teach him that sooner than later. He is definitely trying very hard to read all on his own. He has sounded out several words, including cow, car and taco, and tries to read signs while we are in the car. I don't know how to slow him down but it definitely makes me worry about how bored he will be once he is in kindergarten. We'll figure that out when it comes I guess.
Chloe is growing up just as fast. My baby girl doesn't seem much like a baby anymore. She tries really hard to talk, saying things such as all done, thank you (some sort of a 2 syllable phrase starting with t), ni night and I'm sure more but it is too late to think! She is pushing herself down to 1 nap a day finally too! I think she wears herself out enough to still take a morning nap, but she now fights it. When she wants to sleep she will just lay down in bed and suck her thumb until she falls asleep but if she isn't ready she lets you know by screaming if you try to put her in bed!
This weekend we went down to The Falls Village, a resort down in Branson. Friday night we took the kids with us and we had a great time swimming and playing mini golf! Saturday we met the Gegg's for lunch and they brought the kids back to our house and spent the night. AJ and I got to go out to dinner, hang out in the pool/hot tub, play some more mini golf, and just have an evening to ourselves before coming home on Sunday afternoon. It was a great time but I'm not sure I'm ready for more than a night or two without the kids yet!
AJ has 3 more weeks of summer and I think he is ready to go back. It seems he is getting a little bored/antsy sitting around the house. Preston has one more week of summer preschool and then he will be home all day with AJ and Chloe. Maybe they'll venture out and find something to do so they aren't couped up inside all day. It has been very hot still and I don't think they are expecting it to cool down anytime soon.
I am of course working 4 days a week. I definitely love my job but wish I had just one more day off/week! We are swamped at work and I feel very behind all the time, some paperwork(really stuff on the computer) gets left longer than I would like it to, but I just can't make myself stay late very often.

Mostly pics
Not too much is happening in the Gegg household. Chloe now has 8 full teeth and is getting really good at eating just about EVERYTHING! The girl seems like she eats constantly. This afternoon she got up from her nap and ate a box of raisins, a bag of fruit snacks and half a banana and wanted more! When I got home she was walking around with a spill-proof bowl of cereal - I just can't understand how she is so little :)
Friday night Preston woke up with a raging fever, 103.5, and was crying inconsolably. I couldn't get him to take Tylenol so I opted to put a cool wash cloth on his head. When AJ got home from the movie he eventually got Preston to take some meds. Preston finally went back to sleep around 1:30am and then woke again at 4:30am. I had AJ take him to urgent care and the doc said it was just an asthma flare up on the verge of something else. He is doing much better but hates taking his meds - in fact it took 2 hours for him to take them tonight - fight beyond belief! Then last night/early this morning AJ was burning up! I sure hope Chloe and I don't get sick.
Not too much else is going on. Have a fantastic week!

Last week we went to the Springfield Cardinals game, somehow I didn't put the pics on the last blog. It was very hot. The kids did great and we all sweat like crazy! We left in the 8th inning but the Cards won!!

Growing daily!
Happy Monday! It was another hot day today - the weather seems to just be getting hotter and hotter in Springfield. The kids and AJ are trying to get outside in the mornings and we go outside later in the evenings when I get home, and otherwise the days are spent inside. Unfortunately both of the kids love being outside so it can be difficult to tell Chloe that she can't go outside. The other day she was standing at the backdoor, pointing out and I told her we couldn't go out b/c we didn't have shoes on. She then proceeded to get her shoes, bring them to me and sit down so I could put them on her! She is turning out to be pretty smart as well! :)
Chloe is jabbering up a storm lately and really wants to just be talking with us. She says "hi dadada" to AJ in the mornings when he goes in to get her up and she loves to wave! She will even sometimes, when she feels like it, blow kisses! She is just so sweet.
Don't get me wrong though, she throws tantrums like the best of them already! I am afraid we might be in for it in the future.
Preston of course continues to learn more and more. At preschool this morning he learned about caterpillars and told AJ when he picked him up how they build cocoons and turn into butterflies! He just absorbs everything, so be careful when you are around him, he will remember it! :) I know it is an easy word, but he can spell GO, without any prompting.
Well, hopefully the weather cools down a bit and we can get outside before summer is over! :) Have a fantastic week! God bless you!
13 months!
I can't remember what she wanted, but she wasn't happy! :)
Chloe loves Preston's bike!
Maybe we should get her one...
I just wanna go outside!!
Preston running around the house like a crazy, cooped up man!
Chloe's new face she makes when I get the camera out
She loves to play with cars, she scoots them all the way across the floor and makes the "vroom" noise
Such a happy girl!

4th of July and a Trip to Texas!
We had our 4th of July party on the 3rd this year bc Kailey had to drive back to Jeff City on Monday and that would have been really late to leave if they had the party on Monday. It was a HOT day! Luckily we had brought over Chloe's new water table and the little pool for the kids. They seemed to really enjoy the water, I wish we would have had a pool to get in as well! The food was of course good and there were plenty of desserts! I made a cherry pie and some chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches - they were fabulous! Unfortunately it started raining later in the evening, which helped cool it down some, but it didn't want to stop raining so we were very limited with our fireworks this year :(
On Monday, we left on vacation! We drove down to Tulsa and spent the day and night. We thought the kids would like to visit the aquarium there to see all the different water animals. It was quite an eventful day! We had to change both kids' clothes when we stopped for lunch and then Preston refused to take a nap on the way down so he was a little crabby! :) The aquarium was fun though and then we went out to eat and stayed in a hotel with a pool. Preston got an octopus stuffed animal and got attached to it immediately - I don't think he has slept without it yet! The kids were sleeping by 8:30 and we actually got to see some fireworks out the window!
The next morning we got up and headed out to finish our vacation in Texas. We arrived at my grandparents house and that is where the majority of our vacation took place. It was nice to spend time with them and to see Granny and Great-Grandma Mowery. Preston really took a liking to Granny and wanted to spend most of his time with her. Chloe seemed to like Granny too and would always wave to her when she saw her across the room! The adults did a lot of game/card playing when the kids were sleeping. Overall we just hung out at home - it was nice to just chill! We left around 9 Saturday night and got home at 1:50am Sunday morning. I finish up my vacation today and have to return to work tomorrow - darn! I sure wish I was off all summer.

Chloe is beginning to repeat words! She definitely says "all done" now when she is finished eating and several other things like "aww baby." She is walking full steam and at times is running. She has learned that shoes are required to go outside and will bring them to you and sit down when she is wanting to go out - and she just likes shoes in general! Definitely my girl! :)
Preston seems to have decided that he wants to use the potty now!! YES! I sent him to preschool this morning in underwear and he came home in them!
That is most of our updates. I am going to try to keep up with the blog weekly so I don't fall so far behind! Have a fantastic week!
