Another quick update...

Because frankly I am worn out! Kids have both had baths, are in bed, dishes are done, applesauce is made and cleaned up - boy I am tired!
Chloe is going all over like crazy now. Preston is beginning to like her crawling and be a little more understanding and willing to share toys. He is of course a little possessive still of certain toys, but he is getting better!
Chloe is 37 weeks old today! Where is the time going? She is (I think!) working on tooth number 3 and I am pretty sure it is also going to be on the bottom. This weekend she had her first bath in just the bathtub - no little bathtub anymore! She had her second bath tonight and Preston joined her for a little bit - they had a blast!
Preston is 30 months, officially 2 1/2 years old. Well, you can count it today or tomorrow since there is no Feb. 29th! He is growing up fast - his sentence structure just amazes me. Sometimes I feel like he should be in preschool or kindergarten already!
My 29th birthday was yesterday and it was fantastic! We went to church, went out for donuts, then came home and made some Papa Murphy's pizza to have with some friends and then had some delicious cupcakes from The Cup! I tried really hard to not do any cleaning - but I of course had to do a couple of things before and after our friends came over! :)

36 weeks

Chloe is getting to be so adventurous! She is all over the place now and pulling up to her knees all the time already. She is beginning to jabber a lot more, now even if other people are talking! She crawled down the hallway this morning while we were getting ready for work, crawled into the bathroom while I was giving Preston a bath tonight and crawled into the kitchen last night - I don't think there is anywhere she hasn't been now!

We have been teaching Preston to pray at night before bed, and he will occasionally pray before dinner. He looks so cute saying his bedtime prayer, kneeling by his bed. He has memorized both prayers very quickly - night time as follows:

Now I lay me, down to sleep

I pray the Lord my soul to keep.

Guide me Jesus, through the night

And wake me with the morning's light

Amen.

I want to get a picture of him praying but I am usually kneeling right next to him.

Preston has been going outside to play at daycare and his shoes get very muddy so we decided to buy a new pair of tennis shoes last night. We had a really cute pair of little tennis shoes picked out that he agreed to and then we passed a pair of light up Toy Story 3 shoes. Unfortunately that is what we ended up getting...

He loves his new shoes! They aren't terrible I guess and they weren't expensive. We'll get him some different ones for summer!

I have picked out a new camera, so hopefully the pictures will be a little better in the next post you see! Have a wonderful rest of the week!

My baby is crawling

I just can't believe it! All of a sudden she just decided she was ready to actually crawl. I had a really good feeling it would happen this weekend, but I didn't expect her to just take off. She is literally all over the place! She hasn't ventured down the hallway yet, but she definitely gets around in the living room. She has now crawled her way over to "play" with Rudy, attempted to get AJ's beer that he had sitting next to him while playing X-box and crawled over to my feet when she was hungry this evening. Her little personality seemed to come out a little more this weekend too! She seems to laugh at just about everything and usually it is appropriate to the conversation. I do not think Preston is going to like her being more mobile and a little quicker than she was b/c now she can get to the toys he is playing with!

I tried really hard to get a picture of them together tonight. It is virtually impossible to do by myself now that Chloe just wants to go. This first picture would have been great if I had told Preston to say "cupcakes" instead of "cheese." He looks a little mean when he is saying cheese now!

This also would have been great had I not been trying to keep Chloe from diving off the front of the chair. Preston is at the end of his cupcakes and ready to ask me to see the picture! This is the best I could get though.

He has been loving this little hard hat with the light on it lately. He likes to bring it to bed at night. Thanks Aunt Ali!

I'm gonna try to be better about doing blogs more often so I don't have to write as much at one time! If I'm lucky I'll have time to get some pictures tomorrow and do another quick one to show you Chloe at 36 weeks!

8 months, no way!

Ok, so I know it has been a very long time but I am sorry Grandpa Butch! I've been a little busier lately it seems! My baby girl is growing up and getting around so much more she is keeping me on my toes, especially with Preston trying to play with her by making her play certain things! He is very ready for Chloe to be able to play with him - he does not like when she takes her morning and afternoon naps.

A lot of crazy weather has happened since the last time - we have had nice weather, a blizzard, then more snow, freezing mornings and then 60 degree weather again! All that in a matter of 3 weeks - NUTS! AJ missed 4 days of school the week of the blizzard and then one day again last week because of a couple more inches on top of the blizzard snow/snow packed streets! That means lots of extra days this summer...

Chloe and Preston are doing great! I think both are working on some more teeth - Preston with his last 2 molars and I think Chloe is now working on her top left tooth. Oh, I don't think I've mentioned it here - Chloe has 2 teeth on the bottom! The second one was a big mess - she must have been in a lot of pain a couple of nights, b/c they were rough for me!

Chloe is so close to crawling! I thought she was gonna do it tonight, and she does actually go backwards a little bit. She will definitely do it really soon! She is also starting to pull herself up a little bit, at least onto her knees at this point. I hope she crawls for a long time instead of going really quick to walking, I'm not ready for that for sure! Chloe had her first experience with toast and loved it! She has been doing so much better with finger foods - she'll actually pick them up and put them in her mouth all by herself! She loves to eat, but she is seeming to get a little picky - she isn't seeming to want to eat carrots anymore, so we kind of have to mix them or not give her very many.

Grandma Jackie came in town a couple of weeks ago and stayed Wednesday to Sunday - she got to experience a lot of snow! Her comment when leaving though was that she really didn't go outside much, so it didn't bother her. I guess that is ok, because she did go out and play with Preston for about 10 minutes one day. Unfortunately his asthma kicked in and we had to do a treatment when he came in - I guess it was just a little too cold for him out there. I'm just glad one treatment is all it took! Preston had a blast with Grandma Jackie - they played and played and played and did some finger painting! He loves when she comes to play, b/c that is literally all they do most of the day!

AJ is doing well. He got new kids for this semester and he seems to think they will be good kids. He continues to really like Kickapoo and isn't sure if he'll ever want to leave or be able to find a school he'll like as much.

I am ready to change my hours at work - I thought I would really like getting off early on Tuesdays so I could spend some extra time with the kiddos, but they are napping so I just leave them until 4 anyway. I really hope my boss will allow me to do 4 - 9 hour days so I can leave work at 4:30 everyday Mon-Thurs and have more overall time with the kids in the evening. Here's hoping!
